After he consumes Shizuka, Kaname lets Zero drink some of his blood to keep Zero from losing control of himself in order to protect Yuki. It is also later revealed that his twin brother, Ichiru, also survived the attack and lived at Shizuka's side. He has a great hatred for vampires because of what happened to his parents, but it is later revealed that he himself is a vampire as a result of Shizuka's attack. Zero was taken in by the headmaster of Cross Academy and became a Prefect (Guardian), alongside Yuki Cross. His family was killed by the pureblood vampire Shizuka Hio because of one of the assignments his parents carried out. Zero Kiryu (錐生 零, Kiryū Zero?), who is a year older than Yuki Cross, comes from a vampire hunting lineage. When Rido Kuran, their uncle, resurfaces at Cross Academy, Yuki's memories are unlocked, revealing that she is actually a pureblood vampire, both Kaname's sister and his fiancee. However, Yuki loves Kaname, who has always been protecting her and has been by her side during her childhood as a vampire. After Zero's vampire nature is revealed, she begins giving him her blood to drink. She lost all memory of her life from before the attack, and was adopted by Headmaster Cross. Ten years prior to the start of the series, Yuki was rescued from a vampire attack by another vampire, Kaname. Yuki Cross (黒主 優姫, Kurosu Yūki?) is the adoptive daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy, and a Guardian, one of the members of the school's disciplinary committee.
She must also discover why Kaname, who leads the group of Night class (all of which are also vampires) at Cross Academy as their President, saved her that night and what deep dark secret he is keeping from her.
Now Yuki must help him fight his curse, as well as recover the lost memories of her past. Through a cruel twist of fate, Zero becomes a vampire himself, having been bitten by pure-blood vampire, Shizuka Hio, four years before. Her fellow guardian, Zero Kiryu, a childhood companion whose parents were killed by a pure-blood vampire, is now determined to kill them all and refuses to trust them. Yuki Cross's earliest memory is of a snowy night in winter, when she was attacked by one vampire and was saved by another, Kaname Kuran.Yuki is the adopted daughter of the Headmaster of Cross Academy, Cross Kaien and has grown up and become a prefect for the school with one main purpose: for vampires to coexist peacefully with humans. The anime uses many of the same voice actors as were used for the drama CDs. The second season, titled Vampire Knight Guilty aired on the same station from Octoand December 30, 2008.

Produced by Studio Deen, the anime series' first season aired in Japan on TV Tokyo between Apand July 1, 2008. Two drama CDs were created for the series, as well as a twenty-six episode anime adaptation. The English adaptation premiered in the July 2006 issue of Viz's Shojo Beat magazine, with the collected volumes being published on a quarterly basis.

I caught myself several times thinking "What? Where the hell did that voice come from?" 3) The mixing is freakishly bad. Is this really so difficult? Really, it seems that some dialogs are suddenly interrupted by a third person voice, sometimes it's even creepy.
2) So let's go post-production: I understand that the overdubs are recorded in a super "dry" environment, like a studio, so you NEED TO DIRT THE OVERDUBS SO THEY CAN RESEMBLE AN ORIGINAL RECORDING. But suppose that we are generous enough to forgive the (drunk) recording guy - mistakes happen, so OK, the production phase did not work out. 1) There are so many overdubs (voice overs) in the film, that I'm starting to think that the original recording must have been very crappy.
These are the only reasons to justify the horrible, horrible sound. The only reason I write one is to curse all the people involved in the recording, editing and mixing of the sound (SOUND DEPARTMENT PEOPLE: you could make the film not to suck so badly, but you failed this too.) OK, clearly the sound guys either are NOT professionals (scratch that, they are not even enthusiast amateurs) or they have serious ear damage.

Let me get this straight: I gave this movie a 3 because of the boobies and stuff, otherwise it's so lame it doesn't worth even a review.
